Handy tips for the Holidays (and beyond......)
-
Rubbing a walnut over scratches in your furniture -Will disguise dings and scrapes (not recommended if you have pets in the house tho' ......walnut scent attracts some pets)
-
Remove crayon masterpieces from your TV or Computer screen with WD40
-
Stop cut apples browning in your childs lunch box by securing with a rubber band
-
Overhaul your linen cupboard, store bed linen sets Inside one of their own pillowcases and there will be no more hunting through piles for a match
-
Pump up the volume by placing your iPhone & iPod in a bowl. The concave shape amplifies the music.
-
Re-use a wet-wipes container to store plastic bags (Brilliant!!!!!)
-
Add this item to your beach bag. Baby powder - Gets sand off your skin easily, who knew?!
-
-
Store shoes inside shower caps to stop dirty oles rubbing on your clothes. And you can find them in just about every hotel
AND MY FAVORITE (I'm using this on Monday for my "after Christmas" Dinner Party )
-
Turn your muffin pan upside down, bake cookie-dough over the top and voila, you have cookie bowls for fruit or ice-cream
Thanks to my sister Suze & Cousin Jo (These tips are well traveled - they started in Nairobi (Yes, AFRICA!) then California, and now here on Cape Cod.
P.S.- I have not tried these tips (other than the Walnut one) so attempt at your own risk

It's Back - the Mitten & Hat Tree at the Hyannis Public Library
The mitten and hat tree will be ready for decorating at the Hyannis Public Library on Thursday, December 1.
Once again the trustees and staff are pleased that the library’s tree is the collection spot for your donations of mittens, hats, scarves, and other warm items for local children and youth without these basic necessities.
Help keep a child warm this winter with a little of your time, talent and caring. If you don’t knit, crochet, or sew, please consider recruiting someone who does and help purchase the materials. Donations of new “store-bought” gifts are also welcome and appreciated.
All of your warm gifts will be distributed to local charitable organizations. Child, preteen, and teen sizes are especially needed this year.
Please join us in the 21st season of this giving project to help our neighbors - for directions to the Library click here

STOP THE JUNK MAIL- Join me and let's save a few trees....
This is the amount of Junk Mail I've received in just 3 days (minus the catalogs which I already threw out for recycling)
This stack weight just over a pound.......That's just THREE DAYS OF JUNK...it's driving me nuts!
So here's the solution: 41pounds.org
It's my new favorite web site - and I just signed up to end the Junk Mail at my house and will keep you posted on the progress - watch this space for more info.
Join me and share your experience as well
About 41pounds.org: Founded in 2006, 41pounds.org has stopped 5 million pounds of junk mail, saved 44,000 trees from destruction and raised more than $300,000 for environmental organizations. The 41pounds.org service gives people a way to say “NO” to unwanted catalogs, credit card offers and other junk mail in their mailbox. It keeps more trees in the forest protecting a healthy climate and wildlife habitat. It’s also good for business and charities – so they don’t waste money sending marketing mail to people who don’t want to hear from them
