LOS ANGELES (AP) — A real estate battle is brewing in Los Angeles over a convent and whether Katy Perry or a restaurant owner can buy it. The Los Angeles Times reports the property consists of several acres on a hilltop that overlooks the city and the mountains. Two nuns say they bought it from a benefactor years ago and want to sell to restaurant owner Dana Hollister. The diocese says only Archbishop Jose Gomez may sell the property and he’s chosen Perry as the new owner. Perry dressed conservatively for a meeting with the nuns and even showed them the “Jesus” tattoo on her wrist. The nuns later looked up Perry on the Internet and decided she was not a suitable candidate after seeing her videos. The sale will likely be sorted out in the courts.
