SYDNEY (AP) — INXS (in-ex-ES’) sax player Kirk Pengilly spent his vacation in New Zealand in February thinking every meal might be his last. He tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph his doctor told him the day before Pengilly left that Pengilly had an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Pengilly says he and his wife “visited every winery from Wellington to Auckland and had every bottle of rose’.” He had a complicated five-hour surgery in March. Follow-up tests revealed his cancer is in remission. Pengilly says it will probably take 12 to 18 months to recover fully and he plans to celebrate his birthday next week by buying a speedboat.
