NEW YORK (AP) — Macklemore admits he had a relapse in his sobriety at the height of his success. Macklemore tells Complex magazine he turned to pills and pot because he and Ryan Lewis were constantly performing and had no privacy, and Macklemore was not consistent in attending 12-step meetings. Lewis noticed a change because Macklemore didn’t seem interested in producing music. The wake-up call was when Macklemore’s fiancee’, Tricia Davis, got pregnant. Macklemore says that inspired him not just to sobriety, but recovery. The songs started coming, too. Macklemore and Lewis say they’re about three-quarters done with their next album.
