LONDON (AP) — Rachel Platten’s record label did not think much of “Fight Song.” Platten believed it was worth a fight. The song was released last year and normally would have been considered a dud, but Platten believed enough people were moved that she stuck by it. It had a slow rise and now Platten says it’s taken on a life of its own. Platten says cancer patients have written to her to say it’s their theme song. She says it was a particular thrill when it was played during the Women’s World Cup this summer, because she calls herself a failed soccer player.
