CHICAGO (AP) — Vanessa Carlton can trace the origin of her latest album, “Liberman”, to three years ago when she ate peyote with a friend in Mexico. Carlton says it was amazing but not crazy, and she had a shift in perspective after that. She wanted to make a meditative album that “slips into you like water.” Carlton says she hopes “Liberman” can be the kind of record that you can put on and slip into another world in “the muted cave of your headphones.”
